Beautiful outdoor wood sectional July 18, 2010 Kris Goorsky (Allentown, PA)
I just bought the chaise, armless chair and the corner chair. They look amazing on my new patio. The cushions are very firm and nice quality. I am nervous about them getting dirty, i think i might scotchguard them. I love that i can arrange these in endless ways on the patio and they don't have to just be a sectional.
It took me less than 3 hours to put this together by myself, my hubby helped a little towards the end when I got tired of screwing the bolts in. Overall it was very simple to put together, anyone who has ever put together something from IKEA will find this very easy. But I did make a mistake when putting the corner unit together, I didn't realize 2 screws were longer and had to go back and unscrew almost all of the screws and investigate where I put them in. My mistake for not fully reading the instructions.
On the armless chair I had 4 predrilled holes that didn't line up so I got my drill out and fixed them. It would have been nice if I didn't have to do that but I love to drill so it was no big deal.
The chairs arrived very quickly. I ordered on a weekend and was enjoying the set by the next weekend. I also liked the way it was packed. The ties were really nice to untie, and I didn't have to get the pocket knife out.
I bought covers for the set and am hoping that keeps the wood looking good. I have had bad luck with wood sets in the past, hopefully the covers help.
sturdy chaise . . . July 13, 2010 EM (Michigan) I am very pleased with the chaise . . . sturdy, attractive hardwood (and heavy, of course) with a dull, medium-dark finish that fits in with just about anything. Went together very easily; all the pre-drilled holes were correctly aligned, all pieces included. I did it myself in about 30 minutes (the hardest part was manipulating the heaviest pieces while fitting everything together). Well-made and looks great. The size is perfect: I've been searching for a chaise for awhile, and many are too narrow or too short; the proportions on this are ideal for a person of average height (I am 5'7"). The cushions seem sturdy, as well, and they are a nice thickness, but the corners and edges are not as cleanly cut as the picture indicates, and the color is not quite what I expected. In the sun it is closer to a very pale yellow than to the linen-looking off-white I thought it would be. Also, though the packaging was absolutely EXCELLENT in every other respect, there were about 8 holes punched in the large bag the bottom cushion was in, and some dirty smudges were made in 8 perfectly round spots on the cushion. Most of them came off easily with a little brush of upholstery cleaner, but two of them left some residual smudging. The fabric isn't as cheap as I was preparing myself for, but even so I plan to recover the cushions with something of a little higher quality and in a less yellow shade.
Good Set But Cushion Issues June 18, 2009 MDK (New York, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have five pieces of this collection. It does look nice and more expensive than I paid. Be sure to buy teak oil for it! Needs to be oiled at least twice a season.
Biggest problem is the cushions. They are cream and obviously need to be washed often. That's fine, but the zipper is pathetic. Paid $35 per cushion for additional zippers. The chaise cushion took 30 minutes to get out of the fabric casing and it never went back in correctly. Extra zippers are a necessity. Bought dye to make them red and cover the dirt but never did since they wash up nicely. Invest in the zippers!
